BBC used to entice cyber victims

People are being warned about spam e-mails containing BBC News stories designed to trick them into visiting malicious websites.
Cyber criminals are using the messages to exploit a recently discovered flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
If users click on the link, they are taken to a fake website that installs a piece of software that can monitor online financial activity.
People who receive the e-mails are advised to not follow the link.
The alert, from security firm Websense, comes less than a week after security firms found three flaws in the popular browser.

Sony to boost marketing spending to push HDTV

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sony Corp.'s (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) U.S. unit plans to push marketing spending to record levels this year to fuel sales of high-definition electronics such as televisions, camcorders and DVD players, a senior executive told Reuters.
Cheaper TVs, more broadcast channels, and the launch of next-generation Blu-ray DVD players that will allow consumers to make their own high-definition viewing choices are all expected to spur demand for HD components.
"This will be the year of mass messaging," Michael Fasulo, chief marketing officer at Sony Electronics, told Reuters in an interview this week. "HD is building by double-digits (in percentage) every year. We haven't seen this kind of opportunity in a long time."
Sony Electronics, one of the world's biggest consumer electronics makers, had an estimated $100 million advertising account annually, though it nearly doubled that spending toward the end of 2005 to push flat panel televisions, digital music players and other devices, according to trade reports.
Now Sony plans to spend hundreds of million of dollars more on marketing in the coming year, Fasulo said. A Sony spokesman said the planned budget represents "a significant bump" from last year."
"We are making a huge investment. It is the largest in history that I can recall," Fasulo said, adding that advertising and promotional spending would include everything from TV commercials to sponsorship of NASCAR professional auto racing to film-related merchandising. "We are serious and aggressive about this being the year for Sony and HD." Continued...
Apple Computer Set to Mark 30th Birthday
SAN JOSE, Calif. Mar 25, 2006 (AP)— Silicon Valley's historic orchards have virtually disappeared but one notable fruit still stands: Apple. As the storied company celebrates its 30th birthday in a week, Apple Computer Inc. will have brushed off its bruises from product failures and arguably misguided decisions to emerge with a shine that's more than skin-deep.
Its brand name and products from the Mac to the iPod resonate as both hip and innovative. For all of its recent successes, however, Apple also has its share of challenges ahead as it matures into a digital media provider.
In the digital music arena, where Apple dominates, French lawmakers are angling to force the company to change its successful way of chaining its popular iPod player to its online iTunes Music Store.
Recording labels are also chafing at Apple's insistence that its song downloads remain 99 cents apiece. Apple's CEO Steve Jobs rebutted by calling the record industry "greedy."
In the computer space, where Apple is seeing its best sales in years, information-security firms have discovered a few new vulnerabilities in its Macintosh operating system.
Though the security breaches have been innocuous, security experts say they signal that Apple is a higher-profile target now for hackers, who in the past have focused heavily on Microsoft Corp.'s predominant Windows system.
"Apple is on more people's radar now that the company is a major force," said Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies, a technology consultancy. "And these are all growing pains."
Apple's journey began in 1976 when two college dropouts Jobs, a marketing whiz, and his friend Steve Wozniak, an engineering genius filed partnership papers on April Fools' Day, their eyes set on building and selling personal computers. Another friend, Ron Wayne, opted out of the risky venture within two weeks.
Their first product was a build-it-yourself computer kit. A year later, in 1977, the Apple II microcomputer was born. It was not the first personal computer but it was the most successful a hit not just among engineers, but home users, too. Many credit the Apple II as the genesis of the personal computer revolution. Probe returns first Mars pictures

Scientists are studying the first pictures taken of the surface of the Red Planet by a high-resolution camera aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The spacecraft arrived at the planet two weeks ago with a mission to map the world in unprecedented detail.
The test images released by the US space agency (Nasa) on Friday show a 50km swathe of land in the planet's mid-latitude southern highlands.
The probe is currently correcting its orbit and commissioning instruments.
Three cameras were used to take the crisp black and white images.
Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said the smallest objects that can be made out are about 7.6 m across, but that once the obiter descends to a lower mapping orbit the camera will be able to pick out objects just under one metre across.
Over a period of months the craft's orbit will dip lower and lower until it reaches an altitude of 254 km (158 miles).

The Purposes of 7memory.com
Hello world! I spent 2 weeks to build my site 7memory.com. Now I think it is time to introduce it to the world. This is the moment I was waiting for. Even though this site is still incomplete but I will continuingly update and add content to it.
The purposes of 7memory.com is to act like an online playground or a place for you to spend your pass time surfing online. Let's me introduce briefly every section of it to you. There are 9 main sections as of today. They are: jokes, videos, online tv, musics, site of the week, games, articles, latest news and products.
From the home page, you can see that there is not much of fancy graphics. While I will try my best to improve it as time goes. I must admit that I am still not able to create a professional-looking graphic. I need to learn and this takes time.
For the jokes page, you will find two sub-sections: funny pictures and today's joke. Inside funny pictures, there is a collection of funny pictures, of course, which I collected from various sites. Hope you will like it. While the today's joke section, I update it everyday with new joke everyday. So make sure you check it out.
I am interested in watching online videos which are submitted on other sites. That is why I created the videos' section. I link videos from other sites for you to watch it at 7memory.com.
Some of the videos update themselves automatically because I use RSS digestion tool.
The online tv's section is the section which I am proud of. You can watch tv online for free!! Imagine! I divide this section into two sub-sections: chinese channels and international TVs. As the names suggest, the chinese channels are the section with only chinese programs. You can watch any films, movies, dramas, etc that are available. While the international TVs, I found this service from an Italian site. So don't blame me if you cannot understand the writing there. It has 'almost' all the channels that are currently online. So you can pick any channel or program that is interesting to you.
As for the musics' section, sorry for this moment. I need to do some more researches. If you have any good suggestions, don't hesitate to comment on this post. However, you can already listen to the radio service provided by the same Italian site.
Site of the week is where I keep all the web sites with excellent designs and ideas. Take a look at them can really open your mind.
If you want some challenges, try the games on 7memory.com. Those games are very addicting. Be careful not to spend your whole time playing them because you risk to lose you time for your other tasks or work. Play games only when you are free.
I collect articles too. You can read them at articles' section. At this time, there is still not much articles in it but it will continue to grow. No worry please.
Are you concerned with all the events that take place around you? If yes, then the latest news' section is created just for you. There are all kinds of news which are updated at real time. In fact, it is a collection of news from the world famous newspapers like cnn, abcnews, bbc, etc.
The product's section is where I will put in any softwares, tools, ebooks, or similar. I will update this section anytime if I find something really good to share with you. Sometimes the products maybe free but sometimess maybe not. So just go and see.
Erg... I think this is it for this time. Please visit my site at 7memory.com. Thanks.
