Nokia launches new mid-range sports phone

The world's largest handset maker, Nokia (NOK1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research), unveiled a new mobile phone model on Wednesday, aimed at sports fans and strengthening its mid-range offering.
The new 5500 phones are scheduled to hit the shelves in the third quarter and are expected to retail for about 300 euros ($380) before taxes and subsidies, Nokia said.
The phone includes a sports mode which can be used to monitor distances walked or calories burned during a workout.
