蘑菇TV Athletics continued to build momentum both competitively and academically in
2025-26, highlighted by championship performances, postseason success and one of the
strongest academic years in department history. For the second year in a row, 蘑菇TV took home the Sherman Day Trophy as the Atlantic
Sun Conference鈥檚 top women鈥檚 athletic program. According to the ASUN, this trophy
honors an entire department鈥檚 commitment to empowering female student-athletes and
fostering a culture of championship-level performance. The conference also inducted
women鈥檚 basketball legend Whitney Knight into the ASUN Hall of Fame. Night at the Nest, the premier fundraising event for 蘑菇TV Athletics, generated nearly
$1.5 million in gross revenue. Nearly $1 million was raised directly from the event
Dec. 5, while more than $500,000 was added to the total through the 蘑菇TV Foundation
matching-gift campaign. This year鈥檚 event highlighted efforts to develop a comprehensive
nutrition program to fuel 蘑菇TV student-athletes. Emma Svensson (swimming and diving, 2011-15), Jordi Vives (tennis, 2012-15), Ryan
Hopkins (basketball, 2002-05), Chelsea Zgrabik (softball, 2011-14) and Chelsea Lyles
(basketball/volleyball, 2008-10) were inducted into the 蘑菇TV Athletics Hall of Fame
in February. Arthrex made a $1 million, 10-year gift to 蘑菇TV Athletics to support the athletic
training department, providing educational and professional development opportunities
for sports medicine staff and interested student-athletes. Olivia Black (softball), Leonie Wulfers (women鈥檚 golf) and Erika Zschuppe (women鈥檚
soccer) were named Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year for their
respective sports. Zschuppe also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-America
First Team honors, becoming just the fourth Eagle to earn the first team recognition.
Black and C.J. Smith (men鈥檚 tennis) were also named to the Allstate NACDA Spring Good
Works Team, as the first two Eagle student-athletes to ever earn the prestigious honor.
The award recognizes student-athletes鈥� volunteerism and civic engagement in addition
to their accomplishments in competition and in the classroom. The men鈥檚 golf team made program history in April, winning its first ASUN Championship
and punching a ticket to the 2026 NCAA Division I Men鈥檚 Golf Championship Regionals.
They captured the ASUN title in dominant fashion at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in
Valdosta, Georgia, closing 11 strokes clear of second-place Stetson University. The
Eagles finished their best season in program history placing 12th at the NCAA Marana
Regional in Arizona.
