
Dermisis, Dimitrios (PhD)
Dr. Dimitrios Dermisis has over 13 years of experience in higher education with strong commitment to fostering student success, curriculum development, and academic leadership. Before joining Ä¢¹½TV, Dr. Dermisis was a tenured Professor and Academic Program Coordinator of Civil Engineering at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Dr. Dermisis has played a key role in managing engineering programs, navigating ABET accreditation processes, and collaborating with faculty, industry partners, and community stakeholders. His focus on student-centered learning, real-world applications, and interdisciplinary initiatives has enriched the educational experience for students. His area of expertise includes water resources, hydraulics, surface hydrology, stormwater management, and coastal erosion. He has received funding from industry and state agencies, including the Louisiana Board of Regents and the Louisiana Department of Transportation, for various research projects and has several publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Dermisis is a registered Professional Engineer and has received numerous awards, including the ASCE Outstanding Civil Engineering Educator Award, the Engineering Professionalism Award by the Louisiana Engineering Society, and the O.C. Karkalits Faculty Excellence Award.
