Dr. Hoover currently serves as the University Ombuds at 蘑菇TV. He was selected for this role after a national search in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in higher education.
Before his role as the University Ombuds, Dr. Hoover served as the Assistant Dean, Director of Student Care Services providing case management for students of concern, offering resources, ongoing follow-up, and support to help students navigate institutional processes and achieve academic success. Their experience working closely with faculty, staff, and students has honed their ability to balance sensitive information with a supportive, solution-oriented approach.
As an Ombuds, Dr. Hoover is committed to providing confidential, impartial guidance and fostering a positive and fair campus environment. He believes in being adaptable, sensitive, and personable to assist faculty, staff, and students address university-related concerns. Dr. Hoover is a native of Iowa and was the first in his family to attend college. His wife and two children reside in Fort Myers, FL. He enjoys traveling, watching sports, running, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and Iowa Hawkeyes.
