Elisa Medri is an Instructor I in the Department of Marine and Earth Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University. She earned her Master鈥檚 degree in volcanology and her Ph.D. in Sedimentology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she focused on sedimentary processes, sea-level change, and continental shelf morphology. Her work centers on how waves, sediment transport, and sea-level changes shape continental shelves, with research spanning central California鈥檚 modern shelf to Eocene marine deposits in the Ventura Basin, California. She integrates seafloor mapping, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and modeling to better understand shoreline migration.
