
Gebremedhin, Mewcha Amha (PhD)
Dr. Mewcha Gebremedhin is a hydrologist and remote sensing expert specializing in the use of geospatial technologies for water resource assessments. His research integrates satellite data with field measurements to improve estimates of rainfall, evapotranspiration, and interception loss, particularly in data-scarce regions. He focuses on surface-groundwater interactions, groundwater sustainability, and climate change impacts in coastal areas through integrated modeling and nature-based solutions. Dr. Gebremedhin has held academic leadership roles, contributed to curriculum development, and was nominated for the ITC PhD Publication Award at the University of Twente, Netherlands. He is committed to interdisciplinary research aimed at advancing global water sustainability.
