
Munien, Suveshnee (Ph.D., MS)
Dr Munien is presently an Associate Professor of Land use, in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Studies at Ä¢¹½TV’s Water School, United States. She has an MS degree in remote sensing and forest health and a PhD in renewable energy and rural development. She has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, and multiple book chapters and presented her research at several international conferences. Her research unpacks human-environment interactions/systems to better understand sustainability and vulnerability from both natural and social perspectives. A key aspect underpinning her research is the use of transdisciplinary approaches and blended methodologies for problem-solving. This has led to her participation in local and international multi-institutional programmes. Her current projects include studies on land use systems, climate-related responses and resilience, energy poverty and behaviour, and socio-hydrological vulnerability. She has successfully supervised masters and doctoral graduate students.
