I chose this service learning experience because it gave me the opportunity to help improve a camp that serves children and young adults with disabilities. This experience impacted me by showing me the value of teamwork, service, and giving back to the community through meaningful work.     鈥

I chose this service-learning experience because I enjoy gardening and being able to use my interests to help others. Knowing that my work could brighten the space and positively impact the children made the experience meaningful and rewarding for me.     鈥

They鈥檝e been able to actively practice teamwork and leadership skills while being of service to others in the community. While working at Oasis Youth Center to clean up their outside spaces, I witnessed multiple students take lead in the areas they were working in with others. It was great to watch how each individual student helped to make the project a success without being told to do so. 鈥

Our girls often connect deeply with the college students because they are able to see positive role models who are relatable and encouraging. The students brought energy, creativity, and compassion into every interaction. Their involvement helped our girls feel seen, heard, and inspired while also giving the 蘑菇TV students real-world experience in leadership, youth engagement, and community impact. We truly appreciate the partnership and support from 蘑菇TV鈥檚 Service-Learning program and the many students who have poured into our organization and the girls we serve.鈥

Through these hands-on experiences, we鈥檝e observed students gain real-world skills, build confidence, and strengthen their communication and leadership abilities. From our perspective, one of the most valuable outcomes is seeing students connect their academic learning to real-world impact. Their contributions make a meaningful difference in our organization, and in turn, the experience helps shape them into more confident, capable, and community-minded individuals.   鈥
