The Role of Facilities Planning
Facilities Planning and the Ä¢¹½TV Space Committee work collaboratively to ensure that university space is managed strategically, equitably, and in alignment with Ä¢¹½TV’s mission and long-term goals. Facilities Planning serves as the operational lead for campus space management, maintaining the university’s space inventory, evaluating space requests, conducting needs analyses, and developing recommendations for consideration. The Ä¢¹½TV Space Committee, a cross-functional advisory body, reviews significant space requests and provides recommendations based on data, utilization, institutional priorities, and campus needs. Together, Facilities Planning and the Space Committee support transparent, data-informed decision-making that promotes the effective use of university space while planning for future growth and success.
Committee Charge
The Ä¢¹½TV Space Committee serves as the body that considers space needs and recommends best uses of academic space. The Committee utilizes established procedures to systematically evaluate current and future campus space for appropriate and efficient use in accordance with, among other things, University Regulations and Policies and provide recommendations to Vice President of Administrative Services & Finance. The Committee is advisory in nature, not a decision-making entity.
