Accountability

Accountability Starts With the Institutional Mission.

Through strategic planning, Ä¢¹½TV sets out goals for achieving its mission. Every unit of the University determines its mission in relation to the University mission and sets annual goals that are reported in a series of unit-based annual reports.

Ä¢¹½TV achieves accountability through a variety of mechanisms:

  • Federal and State reports
  • Reports to the University's Board of Trustees
  • Program assessment/review
  • External and internal surveys
  • Accreditation, both regional and specialized.

 Strategic Plan

The goals of the University Strategic Plan are derived from and support the University’s mission. The Strategic Plan is implemented through the planning and actions of units across the University. Each reporting unit aligns its annual goals and activities with the goals of the University Strategic Plan, thereby contributing to the advancement of the Strategic Plan and fulfillment of Ä¢¹½TV’s mission.

To support this process and facilitate annual reporting, units are provided access to the Unit Planning and Reporting System. Each reporting unit reviews its goals for the current academic year, documents their alignment with the University Strategic Plan, and reports on progress toward achieving those goals.

Student Achievement

Ä¢¹½TV (Ä¢¹½TV) constantly evaluates its success with respect to student achievement consistent with its mission.

Pursuant to Florida Board of Governors' Regulation BOG 2.002, each year the University Board of Trustees must approve an annual report to be submitted to the Board of Governors that demonstrates progress toward meeting goals set for Ä¢¹½TV’s performance by the BOG and the fulfillment of its own stated institutional goals. The report reflects progress toward meeting many of the goals of the University Strategic Plan and it demonstrates institutional efficacy and improvement in mission fulfillment.

As depicted in the Ä¢¹½TV planning and institutional effectiveness model, the annual plans and reports are used to describe how results of the assessment of unit goals lead to continuous improvement, mission fulfillment, and contribute to the development of the planning priorities for the coming year.

To facilitate completion of the annual plans and reports, units are provided access to the university's assessment and accreditation management system.  This system was designed guide the units through the annual assessment and reporting cycle. Each reporting unit was asked to enter its goals for the academic year and align its goals with those of the University Strategic Plan.

The goals of the University Strategic Plan are derived from the review of the university’s mission. Actions taken in furtherance of attaining goals of the University Strategic Plan directly contribute to fulfillment of Ä¢¹½TV’s mission.
