Lee EBCS: Second Quarter 2025 Report

Hard data available at the national level would suggest that the economy remains resilient despite some evidence of slowing growth. The labor market did not waver, with the national unemployment rate measuring at 4.2 percent in March, staying within the range often considered 鈥渇ull employment鈥� by economists. Inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reported at 2.4 percent in March 2025, coming in below economist forecasts. Advanced estimates for real Gross Domestic Product (GDP), a measure of domestic economic activity in our economy, decreased at a 0.3 percent annualized rate for the first quarter, it鈥檚 first decline since the first quarter of 2022.

He is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic initiatives, Marketing Operations, and improving operational excellence for Owen-Ames-Kimball, Florida. Taylor鈥檚 Education includes an MBA and BS in Management from 蘑菇TV. He also holds several industry-specific certificates, including a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), from the Project Management Institute and a Certified Public Manager (CPM) from Florida State University. In addition to his responsibilities at Owen-Ames-Kimball, Taylor is on the board of the Department of Management Advisory Council at 蘑菇TV, the Construction & Architectural Advisory Council at Florida Southwestern State College, the Board of Directors of Uncommon Friends Foundation, and the Engineering Advisory Council for Florida International University. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife and two wild children, whether they鈥檙e going on road trips, staying home enjoying the sun, or learning a new sport. Taylor is also a proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces and loves interacting with the veteran community.

Issue Brief: Southwest Florida Migration Demographics

Southwest Florida has long been a desirable place to live due to its warm climate, coastal lifestyle, and economic opportunities. The region has experienced recent population shifts, driven by both retirees seeking a comfortable place to settle and working-age individuals moving away in search of employment and affordable living. We can observe notable differences in the demographics of those moving into the region, compared to those moving out of the region. These differences can be categorized by movement of residents from various states, age groups, income levels, residential status, and educational backgrounds. These migration trends are relevant because of their implications on our local economy, labor force, and housing demand.

Industry Diversification Project: First Quarter 2025 Report

The RERI has published the Industry Diversification Report for the first quarter of 2025. The goal of the IDI is to measure industry diversification and, by extension, that of the workforce, in each of Florida鈥檚 24 workforce regions, the state of Florida, and the remaining 49 states. The index measure is computed quarterly, soon after the release of workforce data from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity鈥檚 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. It spans from 0 to 10, with 0 signifying no diversification (or an economy characterized by a single industry), and 10 signifying perfect diversification (no concentration).
