Writing Blog Posts
June 29, 2021
The writer will be the person who creates post inside the blogs.
There can be multiple writers for one department and usually each writer will be labeled as the Author of a post.
The setup of the blog website will be created by the lead web editor of your department. The web editor will handle the technical aspect of the blog to allow the writer to focus on creating post.
How to edit
If you have not created a blog post refer to this help page before reading this documentation: Creating Blog Post
If you have created a blog post, select your blog post. When the page loads make sure you're
on the Edit tab. This tab allows you to make changes to the writing.
A green button with the label "Main Content" should display in the body of the post. This is called a Content Region.
If the content region isn't appearing, make sure you're on the Edit tab.
Once the Content Region is open, you should be able to begin to type.
Writing Tools and Tips
Use 'Show Blocks' , this is a tool bar item that allows you to see your returns and soft returns. A
return uses 'Enter', but soft return uses 'Shift + Enter'.

Advanced: if you're familiar with the CMS and snippets, use the snippet 'Infotext | Quick note' for creating sub-notes.
Writing Restrictions
Regular Web pages use a lot more variations in heading sizes, this is due to the pages being 'marketing' pages and being full-width.
A blog post is meant for reading large bodies of text and within a smaller area, so consistency and resistricted formatting allows blog posts to be readable in larger bodies of text.
A regular marketing page can only afford two sentences before a reader stops reading. Use Ä¢¹½TV360.com as a reference for writing style, not Ä¢¹½TV.edu.
Blog post are restricted to 4 font variations:
- Headings: 24px (Used for sub headings)
- Bold: 18px (Paragraph Bolded)
- Paragraph: 18px (Default)
- Description: 16px (Used for fine lines)
Headings can be selected by using the 'Styles' dropdown in the toolbar, then selecting Intro-text.
Description can be selected by using the 'Styles' dropdown in the toolbar, then selecting Description.
