What is a content region?
A content region is a button that once clicked, opens up the text editor. Content regions can be found inside of the pcf page only in edit mode.
If you can't see a content region, make sure you're not in preview mode. The edit tab should be blue:
What's inside a content region?
Once the content region is open, you will have a toolbar:
From here, you can hover over each icon to see what they do.
Learn about editing pages.
The most important button in the toolbar is the snippets button:
Learn more about snippets.
Using multiple content regions
Primarily editors should only use the first content region, but the additional content regions are acceptable to be used if it helps the editor organize their snippets.
Another case use can be multiple editors on one page, for example, if 'Mary' and 'Jerry' both work on a page, but Jerry is less familiar with the CMS, Mary may tell Jerry to only work in the second content region so he doesn't break any of Mary's complex snippets.
In that example, if Jerry messes up Mary's snippets, she can use versions to go back and undo what Jerry did.
